Paris-Brest
Paris–Brest–Paris (PBP) is a 1200km bicycle race from Paris to Brest and back to Paris. It is the oldest bicycling event. In 1891 a Parisian pastry chef saw bikers riding through the city and came up with a new cream puff dessert. He made a circular puff to represent the bike wheel to celebrate the bike race. Today, you can see Paris-Brest in different sizes, and normally filled with praline cream with sugar powder sprinkle and sliced almonds on the top.
The Paris-Brest I made is about 8-inch in diameter, filled with praline made with almonds. I've experimented lots of puff based desserts, and I like Paris-Best the best for it's cute look. I brought this to a dinner party and people seemed to enjoy it :)
